The EIRENE Foundation

You can make a lasting contribution to peace by contributing to the Foundation.

Service for peace and development projects need financial support. Anyone who wants to make a lasting contribution to this work can do so by making a donation to the EIRENE Foundation.

The minimum amount for a donation to the Foundation is 2,500 euro. The funds are invested according to strict ethical criteria and the annual interest is used to finance projects for peace, justice, and sustainable development. The capital is kept intact. The structure of the EIRENE Foundation is geared towards the future. This guarantees that it will still be possible to fund important projects well into the future.

The EIRENE Foundation was established in the year 2000. Since then, thanks to a large number of contributions, the capital of the Foundation has grown to about four million euro.  As of now, interest totalling more than half-a-million euro has been used to finance the peace projects of EIRENE International Christian Peace Service. And other peace projects have been funded on a smaller scale.

The EIRENE Foundation is governed by a board (whose members are unpaid), which is under the supervision of an advisory board. These bodies make sure that the Foundation’s capital is invested in socially and environmentally sustainable funds only. Tax advantages

Contributions to foundations are encouraged by the state. Endowments of less than a million euro are tax-deductible when spread over ten years. Endowments from a legacy or inheritance are free of inheritance tax, because the EIRENE Foundation is registered as a charitable organisation. So 100% of such endowments goes to the Foundation.

Loans

You can also support the EIRENE Foundation by making an interest-free loan available. Loans can be of any amount. The interest is used to fund projects which promote peace. Loans can be recalled at any time, after giving three months notice.

Inheritance or bequest

You can bequeath part of your assets to the EIRENE Foundation. Please let us know about your intentions and we will be more than happy to advise you. You need to make your wishes clear in a written will or testament. Inheritance tax does not have to be paid on legacies or bequests. So 100% of the funds go to the Foundation.

Zum EIRENE-Freiwilligendienst gehört neben der Arbeit in den Einsatzländern auch die Vor- und Nachbereitung durch die Seminare. Dort konnte ich viele tolle Menschen kennenlernen und habe neue Freundschaften geschlossen. Die Verbundenheit zu ihnen und EIRENE gibt mir noch heute Kraft und Energie.
